In October, we sent out a Survey to hear what you had to say—and you gave us PLENTY of feedback! We’re so glad that you took the time to give us your thoughts, and we hope to be able to address your comments over the next few weeks as we work to compile the results and follow up on some of your concerns and suggestions.
Firstly, THANK YOU! There was so much positive feedback! We were so glad to hear from our happy and satisfied customers, like T.K., who said “I am glad you sent me this survey, because I wanted to email you myself to tell you how fabulously happy I am with my purchase, the design, the price, the speed of delivery and customer service! My ring is GORGEOUS, fits perfectly, and I have received so many compliments and referred your site to them! I will definitely be a repeat customer!”
We sure hope so, T.K.! For those of you who had suggestions—you sent them to the right place! Your responses went directly to Peter Koslowski, founder and owner of Peter Stone. You just might be the inspiration behind the next Peter Stone innovation!
There were some of you who responded with very valid concerns and we will try to address those as quickly as we can. We want ALL our customers to be 100% satisfied, so we’re working diligently to make sure your next experience is as smooth and convenient as possible!

Why are my items on backorder? We’re trying to keep the prices down on our jewelry, and part of the way we do that is by only producing the items that are being sold. Because we have THOUSANDS of designs, it would cost us an enormous amount to keep all of them fully stocked at all times… and that cost would have to be reflected in our pricing. By producing jewelry “On Demand,” we’re able to keep our costs—and YOUR costs—down! We hope you’ll understand and help us keep our pricing reasonable by ordering merchandise before you need it!
Can we use paypal to pay on your website? Yes! Paypal is offered as a payment method on the checkout page, for both retail AND wholesale customers! Does your website have a wish list function? Yes! We do have a wish list! Any time you’re viewing an item, you can find the “Add to wishlist” button in the right-hand sidebar. Once you’ve added items to your wishlist, you can access it any time from the “My Account” page.
You can even send your wishlist to your family and friends! At the bottom of the My Wishlist page, you’ll find your personalized link. Just COPY the URL provided, then PASTE that link into an email to your family or friends… when they receive it, they can use it to visit (and purchase from!) your wishlist page. This is a great way to give holiday hints and save your loved ones the frustration of trying to figure out what you’d like!
Do you have an advanced search function to make navigating your site easier? We do! Beneath the traditional search box in the top right corner, you can click “Advanced Search” to access more options… narrow your search by category, jewelry type (ring, bracelet), and/or price. For even more specific searches and advanced functions, you can visit our Search Tips page!
What affects the price of the jewelry? We don’t EVER like to raise our prices, but we DO have to purchase raw silver to create the beautiful Peter Stone designs you love so much… and when the price of silver rises on the open market, we have to raise our prices to continue to stay in business. One advantage of manufacturing “On Demand” is that we can purchase the silver now and hold on to it until you place an order… allowing YOU to avoid the price increase that might happen tomorrow. Even with these innovations, however, we have to cover our costs… and when you realize that silver prices are at an all-time high, we hope you’ll understand that we’re doing the best we can!
Why does some jewelry turn my skin green? Although it doesn’t happen often, we know that skin discoloration is unfortunate when it does occur. But we assure you it is not an indication of the quality of the piece. A naturally high acidity level in a person’s skin can cause discoloration to occur when in contact with silver or gold, particularly in hot, humid weather. This is caused by oxidation, which is a natural process that affects all silver (it is also what causes silver to acquire a tarnished look over time.) Another reason could be a simple chemical reaction with soaps, lotions, or chemicals that may be regularly applied to your skin.
Some people have (or develop) an allergy to the alloy elements (often added to make both gold and silver jewelry more durable). This is the most common cause when the jewelry is of inferior quality, but it does happen with fine jewelry also—it just depends on the allergy and the element used to strengthen the original metal (silver, in particular, is a very soft metal in its pure state, which is why sterling silver is generally used for jewelry, after having been strengthened.)
How do I find out more about custom designs? We’re excited to be able to offer Custom design services, so you can have your specific design come to life in beautiful sterling silver and/or 14 Kt. gold. With your ideas and our craftsmanship, you’re sure to end up with something beautiful—and unique!
We’re working on implementing a program to streamline this process, but for now, you can learn more about the service on our Custom Design page, and you can email your requests to our design team for more specific information.
How much is shipping? Retail Shipping: We offer flat rate shipping through the Untied States Postal Serivce starting at $3.97 for domestic (U.S. and Canada) retail orders. If you’re looking for a faster delivery, please visit our Shipping FAQ page for more options. For a limited time, we’re also offering special promotional shipping for Nebula–domestic flat-rate shipping starting at only $2.97!
Please note, international shipping times and rates will vary from the times and rates below. Please use the shipping calculator during checkout or call 1-(800) 397-8787 for international shipping times and rates. Most AUS orders will arive within three weeks.
Wholesale Shipping: Rates are variable based on the weight of the package being shipped, and the location we are shipping to. To find out more information about wholesale shipping rates, visit our Wholesale ordering system or contact our customer service department at 1-800-897-3737.
How can I find out more about the meaning behind the designs? We’re currently in the middle of creating a Design Dictionary to help educate our visitors about the many designs we offer, but for now, you can read about most designs on the item page, or you can browse our blog, where we discuss several of the designs in more detail. If there’s something specific you’d like us to feature on the blog, send us an email and let us know… we’re always happy to hear from our fans!
How can I tell the size of the item I’m ordering? On each individual item page, you can use the “Click to enlarge” button underneath each picture to activate a larger window with a measurement comparison so you can get a better understanding of the size of the item you’re interested in.
What is the difference between retail & wholesale customers? We are primarily a manufacturer, and distribute our jewelry to resellers who then sell our jewelry to the public at retail prices. These business owners who purchase in bulk make up our wholesale customer base, and they receive special pricing for their loyalty and have a special ordering system. If you’d like to become a Peter Stone wholesaler, you can complete an application on our site, or call 1-800-397-8787 to speak to a customer service representative.
For those of you who love Peter Stone designs, but don’t have a reseller near you, we also offer our jewelry directly to our retail customers through our website. As a retail customer you’re exempt from the order minimums (which means you can purchase jewelry one piece at a time), but you pay the slightly higher retail price, because of the additional packing and handling expenses of small orders. We offer different promotions, different programs, and different newsletters to our retail and wholesale customers, so if you think you may be signed up on the wrong email list, please let us know!
What is Nebula? Peter Stone’s exclusive Nebula jewelry is a value-priced alternative to silver for today’s cost-conscious consumer! If Silver is the new Gold, then Nebula is the new Silver! Described as “wearable energy,” this patented new metal alloy is designed to aid it’s wearer in manifesting balance, clarity and prosperity. With all the beauty of Peter Stone’s designs, but at a much lower price than silver, Nebula is the future of affordable jewelry!
AND–For a limited time, we’re offering special promotional shipping for Nebula–domestic flat-rate shipping starting at only $2.97!
When can I contact Customer Service? Peter Stone office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. You can call us at 1-800-397-8787, or you can email email@example.com. Our customer service team works diligently to respond to all requests as quickly as possible. Please be patient if you contact us after business hours, during the weekend, or on a holiday. We are a local office with a small, close-knit team, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we return to the office!
How should I pack my jewelry for mailing if I want to trade it in? Because the post office’s procedures are not designed to accommodate delicate jewelry, please be careful to ship your jewelry in a bubble mailer if you plan to trade it in, or are returning it for repair. Post office machinery can mangle jewelry, or can rip open regular envelopes, allowing your jewelry to slip out and disappear. Even worse, jewelry caught in postal machinery can cause injury to postal workers. Always remember to ship your jewelry safely!
Why did my jewelry arrive packed in a plastic bag? Peter Stone is implementing a gift box/bag option! Soon you’ll be able to choose from various gift packaging options for a small additional fee. Our standard procedure follows wholesale distributor shipping methods, which many retail customers may not be familiar with—but keep in mind that it helps us keep our costs down, so we can pass the savings on to you!
How can I protect my jewelry from normal wear and accidental damage? With the purchase of a Peter Stone protection plan, you can insure your jewelry against wear and tear, accidental damage, and lost gems for a lifetime. For a one-time fee, you can cover any Peter Stone jewelry piece, old or new-we’ll refurbish, repair, or replace lost parts for as long as you own the jewelry, and you can relax, knowing that your cherished jewelry will always remain as beautiful and meaningful as the day you bought it.
WHOLESALE: Why is there an order minimum? We try to keep the minimum reasonable, because we know it can be difficult for smaller shops to meet high requirements… however, we do have to cover labor costs for someone to compile the orders and pack them for shipment. When you consider the very small margin of profit that we earn on our wholesale orders, you’ll understand why we have to require a minimum to keep our business running smoothly. Currently, we have a $100 minimum, but you CAN place smaller orders if you’re willing to pay a handling fee of $27. See all terms and conditions.
WHOLESALE: What is your drop shipping policy, how does it work, and how much does it cost? Peter Stone offers business owners the opportunity to sell Peter Stone Jewelry without placing large orders and carrying inventory with our Drop Ship Program. You can offer Peter Stone Jewelry for sale on your website and when your customer places an order, we will fill it and ship it directly to them!
You keep 35% of the retail price for each item you sell. If you sell over $500 of merchandise in one week your commission increases to 40% for that week. To learn more about this program and read the terms and conditions, visit our Drop Shipping page!
WHOLESALE: How can I see Wholesale pricing? With our new Wholesale Ordering System, you can see our wholesale pricing and REAL-TIME inventory levels, place your order ANY TIME, and view and track your order history.
Existing Wholesale customers can access our new Wholesale Website with their old email address and new password, which is your Peter Stone 5 digit account number plus the first 5 characters of your e-mail address. If you have trouble logging in please contact us at 1-800-397-8787 and we will make sure your account has access to our new ordering system.
We hope this will help make your holiday shopping a little smoother this year!
If you have a question that we haven’t answered, please let us know!
Happy Holidays from Peter Stone!
