The Clan Crest Badges Of SCOTLAND
THE CLAN CREST BADGES OF SCOTLAND
For centuries, the Scottish Clan Crests have been symbols of unity for the Families of Scotland and their descendants around the world. The name 'clan' is derived from the Gaelic word 'clanna', meaning 'children' and historically illustrates how the power of single family groups evolved as successful leaders extended their territories and thereby their ability to support larger groups of people, all acknowledging their paternal authority.
The Scottish Clansman's Crest Badge consists of several symbolic elements: A Belt and Buckle bearing the Motto of the Chief of the Clan. Within the belt is the Heraldic Crest of the Chief of the Clan. The Belt and Buckle denote the Clansman or Follower of the Chief.
The Clansman's Crest Badge is the most powerful emblem a clan member can wear symbolizing their Clan Heritage. Wearing a Clansman's badge is a symbol of your allegiance to your clan. These badges are heirloom quality and will be cherished by generations to come.
"Cuimhnich air na daoine o'n d'thaining thu" -Remember the men from whom you are descended!
These beautiful and highly detailed renditions of Sterling Scottish Clan Crest Badges were designed by Michael MacFarlane, FSA (Scot) with Reknowned Celtic/Fantasy Artist Maxine Miller. Every fine heraldic detail has been preserved to display the nobility and honor these clans deserve. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these items go to support the Clan Societies that these Badges represent.
Michael and Maxine are busy producing more clansman's badges all the time so please be sure to check back for more designs. If you are interested in placing a special order for a clansman's that is not yet displayed, please e-mail: michael@macfarlane.org
