Liza F., longtime Peter Stone fan, shares her thoughts on the changing of the seasons…
Spring is my favourite time of the year. The world wakes up from the darkness of winter, the days get warmer and longer. In the northern hemisphere you have just celebrated the Spring Equinox while here in Australia we celebrated the Autumn Equinox, sharing days of equal daylight and night time, to me it’s a time that unites the world as a whole, especially those who choose a pagan lifestyle.
Nature is at it’s most amazing in spring! Flowers begin to bloom and warm gentle breezes carry their intoxicating scent. Wildlife emerge from their winter respite. Insects get busy. Sea life experience warmer waters. Even we humans shed our layers and let the sun and sweet air touch our skin and it is delicious! Romance in abundance!
I’m quite fortunate to live where the seasons don’t have huge fluctuations, we don’t get snow in winter and summer is generally gorgeous. Our spring and autumn are very similar as far as climate goes and from my treetop unit I enjoy the flurry of birds and the butterflies that visit. Nature is amazing!
The thing I love most about spring is the cycle of life it represents. Brand new beginnings, rebirth. In the animal world new life emerges. In the plant world trees get beautiful new buds, seeds sprout into seedlings, flowers begin to appear and bees start pollinating and making honey. We humans make new starts, emerge from our own hibernation of sorts and reconnect with nature’s energies, barefoot and free! It’s a beautiful thing!
So friends in the northern hemisphere, embrace the new and enjoy! Springtime is upon you!
Love and Light!
