JOHN & CAITLíN MATTHEWS are one of the most successful writing teams in the world. Together and separately they have published over 100 books and continue to collaborate on numerous projects including “The StoryWorld,” a revolutionary new method of storytelling with children.
CAITLíN is a writer and singer, whose album “Deep Well in the Wildwood” was recently released, to be followed by a second CD, “Earth’s Own Heart.” She is the author of over 50 books including “Celtic Spirit,” “Singing the Soul Back Home” and “King Arthur and the Goddess of the Land.”
She wrote “The Song of the Exiles” for Jerry Bruckheimer’s King Arthur (2004) and developed the Pictish language used in the same film. Her latest book “King Arthur’s Raid on the Underworld” (Gothic Image, 2008) includes the translation of one of the earliest Welsh poems concerning Arthur’s quest for the cauldron, the prototype of the Grail. She makes frequent appearances on Radio and TV as an expert on Celtic mythology and spirituality and teaches all over the world.
JOHN has been a full time writer since 1980 and has produced over ninety books on the Arthurian Legends and the history of Piracy, as well as short stories and a number of successful Children’s books. His best known and most widely read works are the No 1 New York Times best seller “Pirates” (Carlton/Atheneum 2006), and “The Winter Solstice” (Quest Books, 1999) which won the Benjamin Franklin Award for that year. His book “Celtic Warrior Chiefs” was a New York Public Library recommended title for young adults.
John has been involved in a number of media projects, as an advisor and contributor, and was the historical advisor to the Jerry Bruckheimer movie “King Arthur” in 2003, and has made appearances on both History Channel and Discovery Channel specials on Arthur and the Holy Grail. He is currently working on several new projects, including “The Wildwood Tarot” with Mark Ryan. He has just sold his first movie script and is developing several others.
Together the Matthews’ passion for mythology and especially the myths and legends of the Celts and King Arthur, make them uniquely suited to originate this extraordinary line of jewellery, all of it based on traditional sources and the product of more than 40 years of research.
